Dealing with Gallstones: Symptoms and Surgery

Hi everyone! I recently got diagnosed with gallstones about a month ago. I had been struggling to find a doctor that could tell me what was going on, until they finally found the gallstones through an ultrasound. My pain location is only in my back. My question is, what symptoms did you all have, and if you had gallbladder removed did it help? I got two different opinions from separate doctors and only one said he recommended surgery.

I waited until there was absolutely no other choice but to have it removed only because I have complications with surgery’s. Mine was bad. I wish I could show you the picture. You can ask the doctor to keep the gallstones, seriously. I opted for just the pictures of them. They were like ping pong balls clogging my gallbladder. It was extremely painful. I had the chills, pain after eating in my stomach and back, bloating, nausea all the time. And just a feeling of not being well all the time. I unfortunately I had complications and digestion problems after the surgery. Check out probiotics and good gut health after gallstones being removed. I would greatly suggest researching everything you can find good and bad. Be prepared. Your one doctor probably wanted to wait until they got bigger in size. You should ask for the ultrasound results so you know how big the stones are now. So you have an idea down the road if they are getting worse or staying the same. A doctor can use shock wave lithotripsy to blast gallstones into small pieces, but this is a rare procedure. There are natural remedies all over the Internet you could look into too.

Thank you for sharing, I also suffer from anxiety and unfortunately I'm becoming afraid of eating food because I'm afraid of those gallbladder attacks. But I will definitely look at the natural remedies afor now. Thank you.

I had severe pain that radiated up into my shoulders throughout an entire weekend. I went to my primary doctor and she ordered an ultrasound. I was referred to a surgeon that said I was borderline for surgery. I opted to get it removed and in recovery he said it was “a very sick gallbladder “. He said the severity did not show up in the ultrasound. I feel so much better and it’s been 3 months. Recovery was very minimal. My point being you should follow your instincts and hopefully have a positive outcome whatever you decide.

how does severity not show up on ultrasound ? My ultrasound was normal and it was gb dysmotility which was detected with HIDA .
