Dealing with GERD and Gastritis Pain

Since Sunday night my gerd has been acting up really bad I had some spicy guacamole by accident. We went to a new restaurant and I did not know it was spicy and a couple bites is all it took. Boy am I paying for it. Along with that I am suffering gastritis and last night I had a really bad migraine due to weather. I have been in so much pain and I have had to work and by the time the end of the night is here cuz I get off at 10 I am literally walking hunched over. I cannot miss any more work don't want to get fired which I don't think they will just my own paranoia. But we also need the money. I'm wondering if I am dehydrated because I have been resting and not drinking enough water and I know that does not help also if I drink a lot of water at work I'm having to go pee a lot cuz I have an overactive bladder so I know that does not help. has anybody else went through this or had a similar situation? Any suggestions not worried about the migraines cuz I have been diagnosed with those a long time ago that's more of the belly issues. I'm taking Pepcid AC at night I'm watching what I eat now and drinking milk to hopefully help. Sorry this is so long.

Pepcid AC can cause depressive thoughts and trouble sleeping. I prefer Nexium when I’m having a bout of heartburn. For migraines, I take Sumatriptan (Imatrex). Are you taking anything for that?

I wanted to add, it sounds like you’re going through a hard time with not feeling well while managing your work schedule. You’re doing a good job, hang in there.

I'm so sorry your GERD is acting up right now. The only advice I have is 1) Talk to your doctor if this is unusual. 2) Try sleeping in a recliner or propping the head of your bed up. 3) Avoid bending over. Sit down and put your ankle on the opposite knee to tie your shoes, set your dishes in the sink instead of the dishwasher. All the above advice should work so gravity helps keep the stomach acid where it should be vs. letting it come up and wreak havoc. I've suffered from GERD for over 20 years. If you've tried my suggestions before, I won't take offense. I wish you the best.

To help with the gerd/gastritis, I know this sounds weird, but drink rice water! Yup! Just the water u boiled rice in. It was the only thing I could keep down when I had bad gastritis. It coats the lining of ur esophagus and stomach, provides carbs and electrolytes, and hydrates you. It's a winner!
