Dealing with High Anxiety: Need Advice

Hi I'm too scared to share this with my parents bc they always dismiss it when I bring it up, but I believe I have high anxiety. I seem to overthink and get overwhelmed when it comes to social environment or with it comes to working on big projects that are to impress others. I get so stressed out that I'm going to do something wrong or mess up and the people around me are going to get angry and leave me, give up on me, and hurt me. It scares me to death to disappoint the people I care about. So what I'm asking is do I have anxiety or some other stress related disorder. I just want to feel at ease when doing something.

Do you mind if I ask a few questions, just so I can get a better understanding, I have anxiety so I know how it feels...if you don't mind to share, you said you are basically scared to talk to your Parents because they just dismiss it. How old are you? What or how do your parents dismiss what your saying...do they just ignore you or tell you things like " you don't have anxiety, your to young to have it, it's not anxiety....its just.... Just would like to know. If you don't want to answer and/or feel it's to personal I understand

no I don't mind, so I'm 17 and my parent said something along the line of "ur just shy you'll warm up to it sometime." Or say I'm overreacting.

I’m sorry, this sounds like anxiety. I have the same thoughts in my head too and I’ve been diagnosed with anxiety. I hope your parents will listen to you and realize sometimes there’s something wrong and bothering you. It’s not easy living the anxiety life

I was diagnosed with social anxiety and this is what it sounds like. Don't get me wrong, I'm no doctor but this is really a lot of also personal issues, like some anxiety or insecurities. I am not good with big crowds or even my friends, because of my ibs, I can't really talk to them about it. If you are looking for something to help, I have an app called Rootd and it helps with breathing, panic attacks and sleeping. I hope you find the help you need.

thank you for replying back to me. 17 is a tough age, High School, peer pressure, wanting to fit in...all the crazy that comes with it and as a parent of a 24 and 19 yr old sons, a parent saying that "your overreacting" is probably one of the most "common" answers along with "because I said so" BUT that does not mean that what you are feeling us very real. When you start feeling like you do when you know you will be doing a big project or dealing with the fear of not doing good enough do you ever feel like you can't breath, or do u just get overwhelmed and freeze up

Yeah, I do. Other times I hadn't been able to finish it in time, or just not got it all done.
