Dealing with Horrible Period Cramps Without Hormonal Birth Control

I have horrible period cramps every month. What can I do, because I don’t want to take hormonal birth control? My gynecologist says that’s my only option.

Hey, I know several people who have benefitted from Yoni Steaming, give that a try, it helped me with cramping as well. 💕

I take 600-800 mg of ibuprofen or 550 mg of naproxen before I start cramping and it works like a charm. I only take it for 1 or 2 days and Then I’m good. Also exercise helps, I don’t get really bad cramps after exercising. And I find when I drink lots of water it helps. I’m only going on hormonal birth control though, since my periods cause severe depression.

You could ask your doctor (or maybe you will need more of a homeopathic/holistic provider) about the herb Belladonna. In my chronic pain research journey, I have stumbled upon it a few times and it seems effective, but it also appears necessary to be under the direction of a professional as it can be dangerous in the wrong quantity. I am not a professional and I don’t know too much about it but it is the only other thing I can think of to help you because I am sure you have tried the “traditional” things(heat,Advil, etc). I also second the comment above that said to drink tons of water.

Rub slightly diluted clary sage oil over your uterine area, where the cramps are the worst. It takes away my cramps pretty quick. Test it on a small patch of skin first though. Some people's skin is really sensitive and needs it more diluted.

I always carry one of those small bottles with me, the ones you can find in just about any craft store. It has: 2/3 liquid coconut oil 1/3 water 4-5 drops clary sage essental oil I rub a generous amount directly over the cramping area. Instant relief.

Evening primrose oil works incredibly well for menstrual cramps!
