Dealing with IBS and Anxiety: Need Advice

I’m starting to think my IBS issues aren’t getting any better because of my anxiety. Any advice here? Does anyone know of anxiety meds that don’t mess with the gut? I’ve tried many so not sure there really is one.

Hi there! So I have recently (last few months or so) realized that my gut issues are exacerbated by my anxiety to a debilitating degree. I try a combination of knowing my stress triggers + LOTS of deep breathing and laying down when I feel anxiety coming on. If it helps you to think of it mechanically, do some research on the endocrine system - there are ways to 'hack' it before it gets to the point where anxiety hormones are making you sick

I have clonazepam as well and it helps with anxiety immensely but I know it’s addictive and I’m only supposed to take it when I’m really in need. I was told by my doctor not to take it every day but right now I wish I could haha I’ll look into buspar - thanks!
