I like to journal right away. Even sometimes till exhaustion. I feel like the more I get on paper, the less I feel the need to act it out or share the mania with someone else who is trying to sleep.

Contact your doctor, increase mood stabilizer and/or antipsychotic, try to force yourself to sleep regular hours even though you don't want to sleep, don't do anything stimulating.

Stick to your routine. Get your doctor to approve a range of dosages for your sleep medications that you can increase during mania. That should help with reducing the symptoms. Try and limit your interaction with people who don't understand what's happening to you, and stay in contact with those who are supportive. Light yoga and stretching as well as meditation apps. I like apps for stoicism. They help me reprogram my brain.
