Dealing with Mood Swings: Seeking Advice on BPD

I have random mood swings. one second I will be so happy and then the next I will be sad. I told my friend about it that knows I have depression and she told me I might have BPD (bipolar disorder) and that I should get checked on. I'm honestly scared to tell my mom about it though so I need some help of what I should do. I never told anyone I was depressed but my mom somehow found out and got me a dog and now we are getting her trained and certified to be my emotional support dog. but all advice of what I should do about BPD will help❤❤

Hey, just so you know, BPD stands for Borderline Personality Disorder. The acronym for Bipolar Disorder is BD. I have been told that both disorders are helped by using grounding techniques and some DBT skills, but I’m not totally sure on that one.

I can’t tell you much about BPD. I have seasonal depression and that makes me have major mood swings, and depression can also be that way too. But I definitely think you should ask a psychiatrist or doctor to give you some peace of mind

I thought I was BP too but they said I’m not. So it makes no sense but I get what you’re saying. I get pissed at the smallest thing my BF does or happy.

If your mood swings are severe and feel like they’re out of your control, it could be BP, or BPD, or, manic depressive state. I was in a manic depressive state for years at a time, constant swinging emotions and dangerous habits. It’s hard to pay attention to symptoms, but so long as you acknowledge your mood changes you should be able to pin down other behaviors. I hope this makes sense and I hope it helps. Getting a screening from a mental health professional should help you immensely :3

OMG I am literally going through the same thing. I have these crazy mood swings that are a new thing and my therapist keeps mentioning bipolar and I’m in denial right now, I don’t want that to be true.
