More than I know what to do with

My current boyfriend may or may not be. Could be just his narcissistic mother projecting herself on to him. Hopefully that makes sense.

I was married to a textbook narcissist for 6 years. He co trolled every aspect of my life. He was never wrong. When he was, it was my fault. He claimed everyone absolutely adored him when, in reality, 99% of the people who knew him couldn't stand him. He completely broke me, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. It took me about 10 years with my current husband before I could let myself believe I was ok, that he wasn't the same, he wasn’t trying to control me, etc. My ex-husband passed away in January 2024 from a massive stroke. We hadn’t spoken in probably 10 years or so. About a month ago, I started having a recurring nightmare about him. I'd walk into this room, and there was his dead body on a couch. I could tell he was dead because he was grey, cold to the touch, and obviously not breathing. Then his eyes slowly open, and he sits up. He looks up at me and smiles that evil smile and says, "You'll never be rid of me." I wake up shaking violently, breathing heavily, crying, and terrified. Then, I have a really hard time getting back to sleep. This is what he did to me, the trauma I endured. Even in death, he still controls me. 😥
