I also have OCD and it is a jerk. I’d like to say I have control of it but we are currently in a power struggle! I like to remind myself that not everything has to be how I think it should be. And doing what is uncomfortable (like exposures) is sometimes the right thing to dom Starting with small exposures suck but are helpful.

I'm on luvox and gabapentin, the mixture of the 2 have helped alot but also therapy and learning lots of coping skills. Redirecting thoughts helped a lot but it's not easy for sure, for intrusive thoughts I used to picture a red stop sign in my brain as soon as one started, worked a lot in the beginning. Trial and error will be your bestfriend, and also identifying ocd traits and calling them out helped me, gave me the power to separate myself from the ocd...idk if that makes sense. Instead of accepting it as just a part of me, I kind of separated it, saw it as this whole other person in my head that I was dealing and coping with. Idk that might not work for everyone but it helped for me a lot

Acceptance. Acceptance of uncertainty, acceptance of fear, acceptance of discomfort.
