Dealing with OCD when it gets in the way

I have a question on how to deal with OCD when it is in the way. By that, i mean, when my thoughts are overwhelming or when i need to repeat something, although it will get in the way of what im doing. For me, i feel the need to do everything in an even number, and that often makes me repeat things a lot, often up to 8 or 10 times, or else something bad will happen and my whole day/week feels off or bad. Its a very specific thing, but i want to know how to deal with it. I'm not currently seeing a therapist.

Hi, the way that has been the best for me to deal with OCD is combined therapy. At first, I refused to admit that I had a problem and repeating everything several times would waste many hours of my day. After a while, I decided to go to a psychologist, who recommended psychiatric treatment. The combination of both simply saved me, I feel like a new person and I don't really suffer from the disease anymore, thanks to the help of the drugs and the psychological treatment.
