Dealing with Panic Attacks: Seeking Advice

Wondering how others handle panic attacks. What medications worked best. How to practice mindfulness.. I have many questions but I just want to hear from others who go through what I do too. I tend to have panic attacks that seem mostly random, with a lot of physical symptoms.

Since I started to practice meditation and breathing techniques I have been feeling more relaxed. I use an app that reminds me to practice every morning and also guides me during practice. I also try to practice meditation when I feel an attack coming on. I go to a quiet place and practice with an app that reminds me to breathe during the attack.

The Calm app is full of meditations that have helped me a lot, but at the beginning I actually had more panic while meditating. Propranolol has helped me a lot as has klonopin and Ativan, although too much Ativan makes me hallucinate. I don’t want to take medication but sometimes I have to.

something that is really hard to do but helps is learning to submit to the panic attack. if you have no way of stopping it, try to practice not fighting. its really hard but it can help. also, hydroxyzine lol
