Dealing with Rheumatoid Arthritis Diagnosis

Hello, I just found out this year that I have RA. Which I had no idea what that was or what I could do to help it. I was scared and confused. It was really hard on my mom finding out. Because when I was 7, I was diagnosed with hyper mobility. And they told me it would go away when I was around 17-18. It ended up getting worse, so I went to a doctor and he told me that I didn’t have that and etc. So I have my appointment at a hospital in Iowa, so hopefully Im able to be put on a medication to help. Im very thankful I was able to find this early and able to treat it now rather than later. I was mainly scared of how this might affect my future job, with wanting to be a veterinarian. Ik my grandma has it in her hands. That probably scares me the most. Has your guy’s knees locked up a-lot? Idk if this medication will help but I just wanna know what y’all think. Please let me know what you do to help. I have it mainly in my leg’s. Thank you for reading my story!

Hi! I’ve had RA since I was a little kid. Was diagnosed at 16. Im now 31. I have had issues with my knees locking up before. As well as other joints. Do you know what medication they want to start you on? If you have any other questions feel free to reach out. I’ve been dealing with this for so long and I’m pretty knowledgeable.
