Dealing with Rib Dislocations: Any Tips?

What do y’all do for rib dislocations/ popped rib? I had a virus last week and the coughing, sneezing and congestion resulted in some very painful rib dislocations. They’re back in place from what I can tell, but the inflammation is making me incredibly fatigued and the pain makes it unbearable to lay down. Does anyone else deal this this?

Can you help? Connect today

Yes my ribs Sublux… Usually it’s where the part of the spine called the transverse process and the rib head separate partially from weekend ligaments. The best thing that helped me was going to chiropractor to get it put back in place and then also seen a physical therapist who taught me how to strengthen my Thoracic muscles. I would avoid sleeping on your side and twisting and lifting at the same time. Don’t do any activity in a twisted motion. If you can find someone to teach you good posture this will also help prevent ribs from popping out. But sometimes it just happens in the sooner you can get them back in place the less muscle soreness and neurological pain you will have. Sometimes a physician who is experienced with this can inject and do a procedure called prolotherapy, this strengthens the ligaments and prevents the ribs from popping out

For me heat usually helps with pain or pain meds. Cold is my enemy

Try to find an osteopathic physician (DO after the Dr.) no hate to chiropractic med, but not all of them know what theyre doing and some EDS patients have become seriously injured from it. Also Idk about you guys but my ribs move more closer to my sternymn

I've had my physical therapist work it back in.
