I have Schizoaffective Disorder, and my friends were in shock, but they were very supportive. My family didn't really know how to deal with it, so some of them pretended I was normal, while my mom and brother figured out ways to live with it. My fiance was the most supportive out of everyone.

For me and my family, it was hard. There were a lot of sleepless nights and tears. We didn't believe the diagnosis at first but after dealing with multiple episodes of psychosis and ending up in the hospital each time, we all had to accept it. I've been lucky to have really supportive friends and family who don't treat me any differently.
