I have a lot of social anxiety. like I crave to go out and be super social and have a bunch of friends and meet more people but everytime I have an opportunity to talk to new people I shut down. as a result I have a grand total of 2 friends. how do I manage the anxiety so that I can reach out to more people?

I don’t have social anxiety but I only have a few friends too. I think quality is way more important than quantity in this situation. More friends is not always better. But if you do want to meet more people I would do it in a smaller setting and have a person your comfortable around with you.

something that has helped me is having a comfort item and taking lots of breaks, even if it is just like standing in a bathroom to breathe for a moment. maybe even having a comfort person?
