i took sertraline but honestly id recommend literally anything else. I took the lowest dose possible and my side effects were still unbearable (nausea, vomiting, dizziness, mental fog) not everyone reacts that way but just a warning if you are sensitive to medications.

I took sertraline first for my depression. It worked in making me not depressed but I also had trouble crying AT ALL on it. I felt like it deadened me. Now I take venlafaxine xr at 225 mg. I started at a low dose and it worked but not enough to stave off my suicidal ideations. I’m thankful it’s been working for so long at this dose. Part of me worries about if in the future, it stops working. But I try my hardest to not think about that & say I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.

I did the same switch. I definitely think switching was the best thing I did. It’s been so much more effective for me. I just went up to 112.5 mg today and my psychiatrist thinks I might finally be reaching the dose I’ll stay on. With the other i wasn’t even close I could just tell. I also am on a folic acid supplement that’s prescribed and have been told it can make medication more effective too! You might want to try asking about that if you haven’t already. All I know is my depression is so much better and my anxiety is getting there. That’s the one I’m struggling with getting rid of the most on my end.

Thanks to everyone who has responded to me everyone has told me what they take and I must tell you everything that has been listed from everyone I have tried to no avail I am currently on Effexor 300 mg a day I’ve been on that for the last four or five years I may be used to it by now and because nothing seems to help I took Prozac when I was around 20 years old and it flipped me out but all the rest of them did OK for a while and that had to change because they stopped working I’ve been taking BuSpar for over 20 years that helps a little bit I know that because I stopped taking it thinking I didn’t need it anymore and I soon found out I was wrong and had to start taking it again I was up to 10 mg of Xanax a day and I believe that was the cost for me wanting to take my life and I flush the rest of my Xanax down the toilet I stopped seeing my psychiatrist after 15 years because he was no longer on my insurance and he was going to charge me over $300 an hour I have not found another psychiatrist on my health insurance plan that is taking new patients does anyone have any suggestions what I can do

I am taking Wellbutrin XL, Lexapro, and Trazodone. I will say it has definitely helped my stabilize my mood! I will say that antidepressants and antianxiety are not miracle pills...which means that they won't magically make you feel 100% happy/ok all the time. That's the unfortunate part... But I will say the best part is that it helps my mood, sleep, and also keeps almost all of my SH thoughts away too! So I am very thankful I can live a better life with a better attitude and be more stable. :]

I started Sertraline a year ago this month - it legitimately changed my life. I still deal with anxiety and depression but it feels manageable, I'm not crushed by it.

Lamictal, lithium, buspirone. I take geodon as an antipsychotic because I'm borderline schizophrenic. Most of my meds work right now, but recently I'm not sure if I should keep taking lithium because of something that happened with my bipolar disorder.

Sertraline 100 mg for depression and anxiety. I highly recommend meeting with you physician every three months and discussing symptoms of depression. By meeting with my provider every three months we have been able to better understand what times of year my depression worsened and we need to titrate up to 100 mg or back down to 50 mg. I also keep a very detailed journal of any worsening symptoms so that I have all my points laid out since doctors appointments can be so short!
