Effectiveness and Side Effects of Desogestrel Pill

Fellow desogestrel (the mini pill/progestin only pill) takers: I take my pill within the same 20 minutes every day - I’m pretty good at taking it. I’ve been on it for three years now but I’ve only been sexually active for two of those three. Me and my partner used condoms for the first year of our relationship, but stopped using them in the last year or so. Usually he pulls out, but today we decided not to do that. I felt very nauseous immediately after and I’m just overthinking - what is people’s experience with how effective this pill is? Is it likely that I’ll get pregnant if I take my pill well? I also wanted to know what side effects people have - in the past three years I’ve had quite a lot of gastrointestinal problems and pain, but I stopped taking the pill for six months and had the same symptoms so I’m not sure if they’re side effects or not. Lemme know!

I take desogestrel and have done for nearly 5 years. I have been sexually active for all 5 of those years and didn't wear condoms nor did my partner pull out. I have not fallen pregnant once and I'm really not great at remembering to take my pill, sometimes I'll take it in the evening instead of the morning or even the next day. Not saying that your feelings aren't valid, because I used to get very scared about falling pregnant in the beginning. Aslong as you are as diligent in taking the pill as you seem to be it should be okay.

The pill is 99.9% effective, me and my partner go unprotected and we have never had any scares or problems. I was nervous in the beginning too, and I did have some anxiety and nausea the first time we did it due to worries, but it's been a few months now and I've never had any issues, even with missed pills every now and then
