for ADHD, it took about a year to get diagnosed only because i was denied referrals to an evaluation twice, though i had suspected it for about 5. it's taken a similar amount of time to get referred for an autism evaluation.

I was diagnosed with adhd later than I should have. I was in about late middle school (8th grade) or early high school (9th grade) or somewhere in between. It’s better to be caught and diagnosed at a much younger age but doctors are reluctant to diagnose girls with adhd more so than boys so I didn’t always get the help I needed. I still might be diagnosed with some other things but I haven’t gone back to my psychiatrist
