Discreet Coping Mechanisms for Social Anxiety

What are some coping mechanisms you use in public that are discreet? I feel like my coping mechanisms that I use to get confidence in taking to someone in public draw attention to me, then it just makes me more anxious.

I don't know if this will work for you, but if something is getting to be too much, I'll say I need to go to the bathroom and just take a break in there. It also feels safer to use coping mechanisms.

Any grounding excerise can be discreet, I personally like rainbow grounding. Find an item for each color of the rainbow! It feels like a little scavenger hunt, and I feel accomplished when I finish it.

My anxiety gets so bad in public that I twirl my ring around my finger constantly until the conversation is over. It's a bad habit but I can't help it.
