Dissociating while driving, anyone else?

Hi just wondering if anybody else dissociates pretty badly when driving it is kind of scary sometimes I feel like I’m in a fog or I can’t focus it’s just such a strange feeling and if you do do that is there anything that helps or that you find has helped

Hi! I do this a TON! It actually causes me anxiety because I can’t remember if a light I went through was green or not! One thing that helps me is to look at different license plates. It helps to focus on the things in front of me and still pay attention to the road. Best of luck!

I find that putting some music on and singing out loud can help. Some days music is too much, makes my brain itchy, ¿over stimulating? Keeping music off but rolling down the windows, brings in fresh hair, and the sound and sensation of the air whipping around ground you a bit. I tend to talk out loud about what I, other drivers and pedestrians or bicyclists are doing, essentially helps me walk myself through situations. Extra points if you do it in silly voices. Read signs or license plates out loud, turn license plates into some game. Counting how many of a different state you see. Or trying to make the gibberish letters of licenses into silly acronyms
