I use music to turn off extra stress and energy. I don't have music playing I have a White-knuckle driver but when I have music playing I can control it and stay calm.

I was terrified when I started driving, and I had a lot of issues being able to focus on all of the many different things that required my attention simultaneously. I think with practice it definitely got easier--it kind of reminded me of learning how to play a complicated video game, like it's very difficult at first to keep your attention to all the things that need it, but it gets easier the more you do it. Someone else suggested music and I second that recommendation, but will note that when I very first started driving I actually found it more distracting/anxiety inducing and had to drive in silence.

i also get really anxious haha, ive had 2.5 hrs of driving experience and i get debilitatingly stressed just before i go out driving. if you can afford it/theres any in your area, i really recommend a lesson with a proper driving instructor!! i had one for the first time two days ago and he was really good at picking out where i was having trouble and simultaneously soothing my worries. also, the fact the instructor has pedals on his side helped ease my nerves a bit too <3

Learning to drive is terrifying but it will get less scary over time until one day it isn’t anymore:)
