Eating Alone vs Eating with Company

I haven't skipped meals in a while. but I won't really eat alone. I only like eating around people. I'll eat one 'meal' a day if I'm alone and it's usually yogurt and granola. is anyone else like this? I feel like I'm not recovered at all if I'm relying on company to eat.

It’s ok that you rely on company, doesn’t make your growth any less valid. Some tendencies may linger on or reoccur even after “recovery”, and it’s ok. Try and reassure yourself that you deserve to eat however you please even if you’re alone, even if it starts small! Take your time, and work your way up <3

I get it. I too eat better when I’m around people then when I’m alone. I will call someone while I’m trying to figure out what to eat and earlier in my recovery I would call or FaceTime when I was eating for company. But I’ve slowly have gotten down to need happy figure out food or support while cooking 2/3 of the time. It’s a process and it takes time. It’s okay if you still need more support.

I eat pretty much the exact same thing: dairy-free yogurt and granola! I too want to get out of this habit of eating safe food while I'm alone then a meal when my partner is home. Recovery is neither easy nor linear, so I definitely wouldn't consider you failing. 💕
