Struggling to Eat Healthy with Low Energy

How do I eat healthy when I don’t have the energy to make food for myself? And I often don’t have the appetite to eat foods that I have. Premade foods are a good idea, but they often contain lots of sodium. Any ideas?

I’m finding that ‘keeping it simple’ is helping. I also have ASD, so perhaps this is relevant given I can happily eat VERY simple food, such as just steamed cabbage on its own… or just fried mushrooms. I’ve always eaten in sections anyway! So I have a number of foods like this that I’ll turn to. Just a fried pork chop, or two. Just steamed fish in the microwave. (Only a few minutes, and a single microwaveable container. Then seasoning or garnish is equally simple… a pepper grinder. Maybe a non of butter or drizzle of olive oil over steamed veg and shaken up in the microwaveable container before chucking on the plate. (Or just eat from the container and save washing up!) Steamed peas with a bit of oil/butter and ground pepper? Plain boiled (especially tinned) potatoes…? As long as you vary the foods between meals I don’t see why you have to have multiple different foods in a single meal! If you’re eating at home there’s nobody to tell you it’s weird. Do what you like and enjoy!

I’ve found that meal prep helps a lot, even if it’s just making salad dressing on Sunday and using it all week

For me meal prepping has helped alot, things that can either be eaten alone or with other items as a full meal. For me i will either cook a couple chicken breasts or fillets of fish and store those and get easy sides like frozen veggies you can steam in the microwave or canned corn. Id say getting a rice cooker would also be a good investment so you can have easy to make rice to go with anything or by itself! Im still figuring this part out but it works well for me, hope this helps!
