What to do with empty prescription bottles?

What does everyone do with their empty prescription bottles. I work in sustainability and I realize after I do my reordering of medications the amount of pill bottles from my 14 medications is immense. I'm looking for suggestions, crafts or methods of repurposing or recycling or if you've found a way to do away with them.

My pharmacy takes them. My hubs puts thumbtacks in some

I put my spare change in them. Also crafting odds and ends. Small stuff like paperclips work also

I feel like it would be perfect for storing quarters for the meter to keep in your car.

I saw a craft that stuck the pill bottles on a string of lights. Pretty funny if you ask me

There is a group that collects and cleans and give to countries where bottles may not be available

You can use an empty one for short term travel, say you are going to dinner and have medications that you need to take while you will still be out, you can put whatever pills you need in the empty bottle. I do sometimes recycle them, some are recyclable in some areas, but like many I am concerned that recycling is not actually being recycled. I do my best to recycle properly, I can’t control what happens after that. You can store any small items. You might even be able to use the large wide bottles to store play dough or putty.

I appreciate everyone's input, I've been using them for change I've got little change capsules all over the place and stashing money. I also thought about using them or donating some for geocaches. But keeping things in them dry is an issue in itself. I've been on Pinterest too trying to see if I could find a good use like hiding keys, or something. But I will look into some community resources as well if they can be put to good use. Someone else suggested making backpacking fishing/first aid kits for gifts and I have a lot of outdoorsy friends who thought it might be fun.

I hate when I get a 3 month supply & the pharmacy is too lazy to open the manufacturer bottles & combine them into 1. So I end up with around 30 empty bottle every month. The white manufacturer bottles are at least recyclable, just have to make sure to remove the labels
