Endo Flare with Bowel Movements

hi just some advice. did anyone find there endo would flare with bowel moving. Currently, my endo pain is about a 5 on pain chart daily but I find when I have a "bowel motion" for about hours & hours before the pain goes upto a 9 then when I've been it only goes to about a 8 and will stay that way for at least 24hours. it makes me dread eating a proper meal. Has anyone else have these kinda symptoms??

Yes I suffer alot with my bowels. I'm yet to ve diagnosed with endo, I actually have my hysteroscopy being done today to help reduce my periods as they are so bad and pain in horrendous. I get pains before needing the toilet , during and for about an hour or two after. I have also been bleeding so I'm on the waiting list for colonoscopy too 🙄

Yes, I've had that kind of pain too. I feel very lucky, my pain around BMs is limited to when I need to go and when I'm going - but only close to my period, otherwise I don't have pain. But it is extremely painful when there is pain. I usually describe it as feeling like my intestines are tearing apart. Before I got my endo symptoms under control, it did happen every time I had a BM, but much worse on my period. It hurt so bad that I just wouldn't go for that week (which also hurt). What helped me was staying adequately and generously hydrated and eating more fiber. That made the stool softer and easier to pass. I never tried it, but I always wondered if a stool softener (NOT STIMULANT LAXATIVE) would help for the same reason that it just makes the stool that much softer. No idea if that one works - try at your own risk. You're not alone tho!

Yes! My severe pain days ALWAYS come with BM’s. Then I am constipated for the rest of the month unless I have pain. I had endo on bowel wall. Went away after surgery but almost 2 years later it’s back.

I’m currently on my period and I’ve been have bm for 3days prior. More like diarrhea for me. I had surgery a month ago to take out my cysts in my ovaries and endometrial tissue. The pain is still there, bloat, but at least now my kidneys and bladder aren’t feeling extreme pressure like before.

Everything is connected and the more pressure there is in your abdomen such as a full bladder or full bowels the more you will feel the pain you have. And so it feels more intense. The best way to manage is to find things that reduce that pressure such as going to the toilet before you're desperate, keeping your body regular with bowel movements through mild laxatives to counteract the constipation effect of most pain killers or stool softeners. The less your bowel walls have to contract to digest and push the food through the system the less your other organs are pulled around. You can get medication for reducing the amount of cramping your intestines do when processing which could help you. It will be a little bit of experimentation but there will be a solution out there

My pain was only unbearable before I figured out my hormones were not balanced and I was estrogen dominant. Now they are manageable and sometimes never feel much, but it varies as I’m still detoxing and this affects my hormones and my histamine blood level.
