I was super nervous to start on Lithium in December during my most recent hospital stay for suicidality. I’d heard plenty of horror stories from IRL friends and the internet. But the doctors assured me it would help and I took a chance and honestly, mixed with a Buspar for my anxiety, it has helped immensely. My Borderline mood swings and suicidal thoughts have really calmed down. Only drawback is I pee a lot. Like a LOT. Lithium is filtered through your kidneys so you will pee a lot and also can’t take for more than like 20 years so it’s not a life med. but I honestly am doing really well on it. Hope this helps!

Been on Lithium for years to help with depression. One of the most helpful meds for me!

I've been on Lithium since 2015, and while it was a bitch to adjust to, it helped a ton for years. Recently, I've had some spells that make me wonder if it's still therapeutic for me, but also seems like too much of a gamble to go off of it. I will say, though, that I have virtually no side effects. It's well worth trying.
