Experiences with Antidepressants and Anti-Anxiety Meds

what are your experiences with antidepressants and/or anti-anxiety medications? I have been using zoloft for 10+ years for anxiety and depression but I still have frequent depressive episodes. I want to see what else is out there.

I've been on Zoloft for over 10 years as well. I get more breakthrough anxiety attacks but occasionally I will get depressed as well. I've never tried anything other than zoloft.

My anxiety got better immediately on Lexapro, and then Wellbutrin was added to combat Lexapro side effects and help my mild depression. I would ask about adding it, especially for anyone trying to quit smoking (as it's prescribed for this as well)

what side effects were you experiencing on the Lexapro?

Lexapro + Wellbutrin was a solid combo for me too. Sometimes it seems like a cocktail is what ends up working.

I'm on zoloft now, and have been for almost 2 years now. I tried celexa, effexor, and lexapro before this. The celexa didn't do anything for me, the effexor made my anxiety worse but helped with the depression a lot (its an SNRI, which can have unpleasant side effects/withdrawal effects), and lexapro made me extremely flip floppy emotionally and made me VERY suicidal. Lexapro is one of those meds where you will KNOW if it's for you or not in the 6 to 8 week trial period, at least from my experience and stories from others. It works SUPER well for some people, and I would definitely try that or prozac if the zoloft doesn't help. Also I second what was said about wellbutrin too. Im on zoloft and buspar for my depression and anxiety and for me that was the combo that I needed

I was on zoloft for 2 years and it did nothing for me. I am looking for new options for myself.
