Tips for Falling Asleep in New Places

How do you get yourself to fall asleep in new places? I have trouble falling asleep (even with melatonin) at my partner's house.

Can you help? Connect today

Invest in some CBD gummies for sleep!!! I’ve been taking some from CBD MD and they are amazing!! You know how melatonin makes you feel like “oh I’m tired, I’m gonna go lay down” CBD gummies make you feel like, “if I don’t find a bed in the next minute I will be sleeping on the floor!”

Do some stretching before bed or bubble bath by candlelight or create a self care routine before bed. Get you in a relaxed mindset. Whatever that is for you. Good luck

My doctor had to prescribe me a medication to help because nothing else I tried worked. I’m on Trazodone 100mg and it works pretty well.

I like an app called Loona. It sort of reads me a bedtime story while I color in a picture related to the story. I find it really soothing and I find that having something familiar helps me connect to the sleeping mindset I'm looking for.

I usually use ASMR videos on YouTube. Nomadic Ambience has some awesome nature sound videos that are shot with a binaural mic. If ASMR isn't your thing though Id recommend getting some chamomile tea if you're able, or even just some hot water before bed can really help to get you in a tired mindset. Also I'll add this, although I'm not sure if it's an issue you struggle with-- for me I occasionally will have auditory hallucinations before bed or will hyperfocus on any creak or tap at night. I use whitenoise to help cancel it out. They sell portable devices on Amazon specifically for whitenoise if you're worried your phone would run out of battery.
