Tips for Bringing Up Feeding Tube to Doctor

TW: food, weight loss does anyone with any kind of feeding tube have any tips on bringing it up to my doctor? i haven’t been able to keep any sort of food or meal replacement drink down or at least eat/drink it without SEVERE pain for about 3 months now and it has gotten SO much worse in the past week. i’ve lost 22 pounds in about 2 months and am really struggling. I think i would benefit by having a tube just for the time being until i can find some other sort of treatment. i don’t have a diagnosis for these stomach issues yet and i don’t see my GI doctor until march. I have an appointment with my primary doctor on monday and just don’t know how to bring it up to them because i’m scared they will think i just want one for no reason. Any tips on that would be greatly appreciated :)

Nobody wants a feeding tube for no reason! Your doctor will not think that and if they do👁👄👁 that’s their problem. Doctors are there to accommodate your life, it’s there job. Any doctor in there right mind, given your circumstance, should be empathetic and if a feeding tube is the only option, they should provide it.
