How do feel more connected when my anxiety constantly causes me to feel disconnected for my own body?

Try and list things you see and hear around you. Such as colours, talking, people, animals, shapes, music, smells, tastes. If it's overwhelming leave to somewhere more comfortable

, I do something very similar. I find: 5 things I can see, 4 things I can hear, 3 things I can feel/touch, 2 things I can smell, and 1 thing I can taste. I've also take a shot of pure lemon juice. It seems to shock me back into a more comfortable state. I also carry a rollerball of peppermint oil and one of lavender oil. I just roll one or both on pulse points and concentrate on the smell.

I’ve found yoga really helps keep me grounded! I also use a lot of fidget toys. Peppermint essential oil and really strong mints are my go to when I’m out in public or at work.

My favorite jewelry is anything I can fidget with. It brings me back to feeling reality still while trying to break through the surrealistic feelings I feel. I dissociate a lot but learn to ground myself and also consciously being aware about it happening to you helps me too. I can take a second to realize what I'm doing and look to my coping mechanisms.

Learning and discovering new grounding techniques. I've been trying to add more "tools" to my "toolbox" (coping strategies are my tools)
