Feeling Empty and Alone

Hello I ’m new here (: hopefully I’m doing this right, but what’s been on my mind lately has been a rather empty feeling. It’s rather unpleasant and I’m strangely convinced if I could just get myself to cry I’d feel so much better yet anytime I try to feel sad or even happy for that matter it’s just empty. I guess I’m feeling rather alone in that feeling as I’ve met no one else who understands when I try to explain it.

Hey! I’m new here too and I understand this feeling all too well. It looks like we have a bit in common too, feel free to reach out if you need someone to talk to 😁

I'm new here too! I know that feeling and doing the same boat as you. I've been through a lot of shit and was constantly emotionally overwhelmed plus I never felt safe then one day I just didn't feel it anymore and haven't since. According to the therapist I used to go to I'm emotionally detached...

Singing always makes me cry, I think it's instinctual. Have you tried singing along to your favorite ballads? When I feel sort of "emotionally constipated" like that, there's always a cry trigger somewhere... Sometimes it's watching anime, sometimes it's talking honestly about my feelings, even to myself alone. It's possible you may even cry after just imagining crying, fake crying, scrunching up your face, etc. It might be that your body wants to know if it's safe first, like how you sometimes don't feel like peeing until you sit on the toilet. Good luck.
