Feeling Sick on a New Job

I have a fever again which is bad timing bc I started a new job recently and now after only 2 days I have to stay home because I'm sick :/ I know it's not my fault but I feel like I'll look bad for having to take time off when I just got hired. I feel horrible too which isn't helping; I'm really weak rn and any time I try to walk more than a few steps I get lightheaded and nauseous and shaky and hot and have to lay down. I wonder if I got a stomach bug

Hey, I recently got a new job too, and had to take 2-3 unplanned days off plus 2 weeks for surgery (I literally started on the 28th of November). I also had 2 late starts due to things that came up, and today is my first day post surgery. Don’t worry too much about it. Take it easy, they hired you because they thought you’d be a valuable addition to the team. You can always get a doctors note if you’re too worried (I’d try an app like teladoc). If for whatever reason (and I really don’t anticipate this) you get fired, you can apply for unemployment benefits to keep you on your feet until your next job. Things happen, I’m sure your new people understand! ♥️♥️

Also I was sick with something weird myself, and I’ve heard the flu is going around now. Might be that.
