Feeling Stuck: Hyperactivity and Mental Illness

For people ever feel stuck because they are so hyper? I do and it drives me crazy. I have bipolar, OCD and ADHD. With all of them I get a feeling like I’m stuck physically but my mind is going 100 mph.

Can you help? Connect today

I can feel your pain, I can actually see and feel the people who are around me ,when I'm having one of my extremely high energy episodes, start to squirm because my energy is too much for them.

I also feel others energy. I came off some of my meds and am feeling a little better. Still on 4 meds but lower doses. Hope you have a good day

I feel this too sometimes, but lately with my other medical issues my mind has been completely still but my body won’t stop moving. Leg bouncing, opening and closing my hands, rocking back and forth. Dunno what it’s about but I definitely understand where you’re coming from. When my mind is going fast and my body isn’t I will write down what’s in my head over and over on the same line till you can read what it says and it’s just a bunch of scribbles. That helps me to get it out and also to distract and forget what I was writing so I’m not obsessing so much. Hope this helps

thank you so much, it does help! About 3 years ago I hit overdrive in this downward mental spiral that I'm still trying to learn how to cope with and live as normal life as possible. I have been getting better but I still have days that are absolutely dibilitating

Well there is only one thing to do ignore do not give in to your feelings decide on something to do and do it follow through with completion of a task period make your self do it as if your life depended on it I was were you were off all meds that’s life many feelings ideas Ect. You have to learn by repetition to keep doing what you have to do if not you will always be were you are presently

I have an eating disorder bc of it. I have gotten help with therapy and with menopause came weight naturally. I let a number on a scale control me on somedays.
