What Medications Work for Fibromyalgia Pain?

Does Amitriptyline work for your fibromyalgia pain? What other medications have you tried? I’m looking for a better way to handle the chronic pain.

I only use it to control my IBS symptoms. It works for it maybe 70%. I take a very low dose of 20mg. Maybe higher doses work for other things.

It really helps me with my idiopathic nerve pain all over my body and ibs pain as well. The key is to find the correct dosage, at least that was what I found in my case.

I take it before bedtime. It helps me fall asleep but doesn’t really help me stay asleep.

It really helps my FM and IBS symptoms. I still have pain but it has greatly reduced it. The one downside is that it gives me acid reflux.

I take it for nerve pain, it helps a lot. Without it I can barely sleep

I have been on it for about 4 years and I find that I have more days out of bed than in bed. Unlike before when I couldn’t get myself out of bed to even go to work. It’s not a cure all but it definitely helps make my pain more manageable. I do have it paired with Buspirone which is an anti-anxiety med but also is used to chronic pain.

Thanks! I think I may try mine at night as some of you suggested.

QuestionQueen I take mine at night and it really helps me sleep. I am, however, in a higher dose.

When I took it I slept better and when I slept better I felt better overall.

I received the best help once my PCP referred me to a pain specialist. Good luck!
