Looking for Fibromyalgia Treatment Advice

I was just diagnosed with fibromyalgia in January of 2022. I am feeling really lost and hopeless in regard to treatment. I was given flexeril for pain, and it worked great for the first couple of weeks. Now its doing nothing for pain 2 months in. I have been in physical therapy (aquatic) for about a month and a half. This really helps my pain decrease while in the pool, but I haven't noticed a difference outside of the pool yet. If you have fibromyalgia, what treatments have worked well for you? I really need some encouragement. I am feeling lost and alone.

If PT works in the pool, you might be someone who responds well to movement. For me exercise triggers my pain, but you may be one of the lucky ones who can do gentle movements and feel better! I am on lyrica and it takes the edge off, but I’m trying to get off of it by doing ketamine infusions. Medical marijuana has helped me more than anything!

I would say marijuana because it takes the edge off.. however anything else has horrible side effects as far as medication wise.. it’s the safest thing I’ve found to be honest.. whether it’s “medical” or not… outside of medication I’ve read that Tai Chi helps for a second like aquatic therapy but the pain comes right back… and the same for yoga. I’m about to get into Tai Chi… also I try to walk around my neighborhood as much as I can for exercise because I can’t do anything strenuous… but to be honest I haven’t heard of anything that makes it go away or completely helps.

Lyrica didn't work for me. I took Gabapentin for many years with success. My FM is worse with exercise so I just do a few stretches as needed throughout the day. I had a doctor about 12 years ago that specialized in FM. He recommended an organic diet. FM patients are sensitive to chemicals. It really helped. I've been eating organic ever since.
