Finding Calm: How to Prevent Panic Attacks

How do I prevent a panic attack? I’d love to learn how to meditate and find peace. I’m open to learning. I need all the Help I can get. I don’t like pills so I’ve chosen to try and live without them however it’s been harder and harder to find a calm. I enjoy calm and earthy places and love candles. I’d love to open new ways to find a calm.

Grounding techniques are a great start/stepping stone. Also mediation doesn’t have to be long, try a short bit each day and you’ll notice the difference :) for panic attacks I always recommend the ice cube trick (if you feel one coming, grab an ice cube and hold it. It should bring you back)

Jacktown why do you think Moodymochi is a bot? My brother told me about grounding techniques and meditation.

No sorry I'm not a bot I am a real person with real anxiety and panic attacks. I have a fatty liver so try not to take medication also. I can not relax I have a very hard time relaxing. I don't know how to meditate wish i did though. I do use essential oils though. Sometimes they help and sometimes they don't.

I have them too. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to leave a store, or crowded place or pull over… I also don’t want the pills…Distraction can help. Look at whatever is by you and say it aloud. Wall, red sweater, dog-I mean-whatever you see around you. Also, breathing… breathing in and counting to seven and releasing it for 8

Hey sorry I haven’t replied. I started a new job. I do pesticides for plants it’s been busy. I hope you’re well. I had to block my ex husband to he other day he was going through some made up scenarios in his mind and accused me of breaking into his apartment as if I need anything from him. Super weird and crazy.

I started to try and learn to meditate and drinking callings tea at certain hours of the day to remind myself to stay calm.
