I started by asking my primary care provider for a referral to someone that my insurance covered, there are also many places that take no insurance or have sliding scales

I got so-so therapists untill I went to the psych ward. My healthcare seemed to take me seriously after that 🙃. Gave me a wonderful therapist after that, even if she is pretty busy

I used BetterHelp honestly. I put in my conditions and what I need from a therapist (religion based, gives me homework, uses CBT) and they automatically matched me with one. If you want to try it, you can message me and I’ll give you a link for a free week 🤗
