First Rheumatologist Appointment for Fibro: What to Expect?

i have my first rheumatologist appointment in a few weeks for my fibro, can anyone give me an idea of what might happen?☺️

they’re basically going to move and test your joints. most likely make you lay down, on your back and then on your stomach. and move everything in different ways, legs, fingers, arms. mine even wanted to see me walk lol. it could be different but thats what id imagine !! nothing stressful and if anything hurts just communicate that. they wont make you do anything you cant 💕

I do want to prepare you that they may be unwilling to help. Rhumetologist are hit or miss on whether they will treat fibro, some people have great experiences, but personally the one I went to wouldn’t treat me. I see a pain management specialist instead! I really hope they help you, but want to prepare you in case they don’t! But other than that, expect a complete and thorough history and a physical exam (moving around your joints, poking areas and asking if it hurts, stuff like that)! Shouldn’t be too different from other appointments, maybe just a bit more in depth!
