Gabapentin for Fibromyalgia: Experiences?

My doctor just put me on Gabapentin starting at 300mg, progressing to 600 then progressing to 1800 because of my fibromyalgia. Can others tell me what your experience with this medication is? How much did it help?

I have restless leg and possibly fibro still waiting to be diagnosed. Im.on gabapentin I started at 100 then 300 then 400 now just starting 600mgs 4xs a day. It helps alot. I noticed when they jumped me from 100 to 300mgs I felt "drunk" and unsteady. Just becareful as it hits you like a brick wall.

Gabapentin helps my Fibromyalgia symptoms a lot. I wouldn't recommend driving on it when you first start taking it bc it does make you feel drunk and lethargic but it works well

I take gabapentin for trigeminal neuralgia and wouldn't be able to survive without it. It makes me super tired, though. I am supposed to take three pills throughout the day, but could not function at work. Talked to my doc and she said it was fine to take one in the morning, skip the lunch one, then take two at bedtime. This helps so much with the sleepiness it causes and still gives me the relief.

I take 600 mg 4x a day. I know if I miss a dose because I forget or something I definitely know it immediately. It helps with the pain.

gabapentin is a beautiful drug. I do not have fibromyalgia, I am prescribed a low dose (200mg) of gabapentin as needed for acute anxiety. It makes you very relaxed and sleep very deeply - its MOA on the pain pathway involves modulation and adjusting the messages the nerve impulses/nociceptors therefore it relieves windup/neuropathic pain
