Getting the COVID Booster: What to Expect?

Has anyone gotten the COVID booster? Mine is scheduled for January 4th but I’m feeling anxious because I don’t know what symptoms to expect. How did you feel after getting the shot?

I personally got the same booster as my original doses and had no reaction beyond my arm being sore, best of luck with yours (:

I got mine last week and had no symptoms other than my arm being a bit sore. I've talked to a few other people who got it, and they all seem to have had roughly the same reaction as they did to their second dose - if they felt like crap after the previous shot, they felt like crap after the booster, if they felt fine last time they felt fine after the booster. I don't know if that's true for everyone, but that's what I've observed. Good luck, and thank you for getting the vaccine!! You're helping to protect everyone :)

Boosted with no worrisome symptoms. I had strong flu-like symptoms after my 2nd dose of Moderna in April, but the booster just produced a sore arm. 👍

Thank you all for the info! I was soooo anxious about getting sick with my first and second doses but did just fine. Hopefully it’ll just be a day or two of minor symptoms!

Just a sore arm even though I had a strong reaction after my 2nd dose. You got this!

I felt terrible after my second dose (fever, chills), but the booster really wasn’t bad! My arm was definitely sore and I was a little tired, but that’s it!

Got mine before Thanksgiving. Very mild symptoms, just sore arm for a day or so.

I got the booster last month. Felt fine after the first 2 vaccines. Had a very sore and swollen arm at the booster Injection site. I also felt lethargic for about 1 1/2 days. It was still worth it to have the peace of mind knowing that I’m doing everything I can to stay healthy. 👍

Got mine a few months ago. For me, it barely hurt and I didn’t have any side effects. Hope it goes the same for you!

I just got mine yesterday! I got Pfizer for the first two doses but got the Moderna booster. I was worried that since i was changing brands I would get really sick but it's been over 24 hours and i feel pretty good! I my body felt sore today HOWEVER i went to the gym yesterday so that was likely the culprit. Drink water and rest and you'll feel fine!!

Felt like crap after shot #2…. I recently got the Moderna 1/2 dose booster, had some mild body aches, but no big deal and resolved quickly

I am fully vaccinated with the booster included and I never had 1 side effect

The only side effect I ever had was a sore arm. You'll be fine, and remember that this could prevent you from being sick in the future. Covid is nothing to play around with, and I'm proud of you for deciding to get the booster even though you are anxious about it! I was a little worried when I got mine too.

I felt little dizzy after my first too and the booster just made me tired for a day. Arm only hurt the first shot but definitely worth it!

A bit feverish and very sore arm. Was still able to go to school and give a presentation the morning after so not complete misery :) Take the day off after if you need

Worst about it for me was the arm soreness. I got the flu shot on the same day in the other arm, and honestly that one hurt more.

I didn’t have any symptoms other than a mild sore arm, but that’s normal for any shot. I have both and am getting the booster shot soon and no symptoms have occurred!

Yes. I had mine in October. Felt achy and tired for a couple of days. Arm was sore but resolved in 2 days.
