Getting off Lexapro: My Experience with Bipolar Disorder

Please read if you have gotten off lexapro! Been on lexapro for 7 years for depression… turns out I’m bipolar and antidepressants don’t treat bipolar. In the midst of those seven years idk if I was ever “well.” I think i was so used to feeling terrible that feeling depressed was what I thought life was, It was normal, I didn’t know happiness. After my third major episode I finally sought help for depression and it was concluded I’m bipolar (stil question if all daily.) It’s been a year of med management with psychiatry for this, a new medication to address BiPD, and I’m finally stable enough to try weaning off lexapro. The withdrawl was INSANE for two weeks, but now, that I’m off, I feel better than ever. It’s been two days after two weeks of hell, I’m happy, positive, slightly wondering if I’m hypomainc. Either way, I’m wondering if getting OFF of lexapro actually improved anyones mood…
