Struggling to Stick to a Gluten-Free Diet

I was diagnosed back in 2017 and I started a gluten free diet right away. I was so good for five years not eating any gluten. Then I became depressed and decided that staying on the diet was just too much for me. So I went off the diet. I need help getting back on it but I’m nervous it will make my depression worse again. Any tips?

seeing a food therapist regularly might be beneficial to help keep your mental health in check while you’re on the diet

^^ even eating disorder therapists could help just because they understand food problems / they don’t only treat ED’s, they treat anyone with food issues related to their mental health

See a nutritionist, one that is familiar with celiac is hard to find but they are out there. I go off every now and then and it makes things worse. It’s something we have to deal with constantly. The better we are at maintaining the better we will feel.

I definitely suggest a therapist who specializes in ED! Also, I've been gluten free since 2008 and have gone through my own depression with the disease too and relate. Message me if you need to talk!
