When Google is Your Doctor: The Perils of Self-Diagnosis

does anyone else do so much research on their various conditions that they're now more knowledgeable than their doctors? I feel like Google gives a better education than med school...

yes!! and when you explain what medication you’d need or the intricacies of your symptoms your doctor labels you as drug seeking and a hypochondriac

I recently had a dr put on my CHART that he thinks I'm a hypochondriac... im sorry that he spent half a million dollars on med school, and still doesn't know jack, but that doesn't mean I'm not in pain.

Aaaabsolutely. Same with my random food sensitivities. In all fairness to doctors, med school teaches base levels of a whoooole bunch of information. If you're seeing a family doctor or just anyone other than a certified specialist in what you contend with daily, their in depth knowledge of specific conditions is limited to their direct experience with such -- which is often non-existent / very small 🤷🏻‍♀️
