Hair falling out by the handfuls, what can I do?

I am under a lot of stress but I have had a roller coaster life of stress the last 44 yrs. I had thick thick long hair. No coloring done. Now my hair is falling out by the handfuls all day long. It’s all over my clothes all over everything. I brush my hair my brush will be full of hair I had to clean out half way during brushing. Any other ideas ? Or what can I do. I’m going to have to cut since it’s thin, so so thin.

I’m sorry I’m in the same situation. Stress and hormones. Take a biotin supplement, that has helped me in the past.

Also try some collagen. I use the Great Lakes collagen powder that I put in my coffee or tea. I get it on Amazon. No taste. I had stopped using it and noticed I had started shedding more. Hang in there. I know how you feel.

Make sure you aren’t using the tresumme brand shampoos. It makes a lot of peoples hair fall out. And take vitamins. Biotin helped me some. And switching shampoo products! Lol

This has been happening to me ever since I got Long Covid and I haven’t found much to help : I have been avoiding hair color, brushing when wet, heat tools, too hot of showers, and tight hairstyles. I am using Olaplex at the moment and I feel that has helped me the most I have tried tons of hair products. My derm recommended minoxidil but I refuse that because it seems my hair is breaking and not falling out at the scalp.
