How did you know you had Hashimoto's?

My best guess is that I have Hashimoto’s. I do not have a diagnosis, and I understand they are difficult to get, especially without medical insurance. How did you know that you had it?

I joined the Paloma Health community. You can order test kits and connect with thyroid doctors. I recommend checking out their site and seeing if their pricing works for you.

I went to a place called medlink. It uses a sliding scale for people that doesn't have insurance. They ran some blood test and all of my numbers came back extremely high and they confirmed I had hashimotos.

I knew i had before the doctor found out- I actually went to my doctor with my problem but i never mentioned hashimoto I just said I think there is something wrong with my thyroid- they kept testing and everything came back normal, until a third doctor knew what to ask me and she did the right test! U have to ask them to test for antibodies attacking your thyroid- because ur hormones could be normal but it only means that your thyroid is overworking and it goes up and down all the time!! I just knew because I had pretty much all the symptoms of hashimoto!!

I second that when you have your thyroid levels run, make sure to check TPO (thyroid peroxidase) Antibodies. My thyroid levels are often within a standard range but my TPO Ab are almost always high with Hashimoto's.
