Headaches vs. Migraines: What's the Difference?

How do you tell the difference between a headache and a migraine, and do you ever have mild migraines or are they always very strong? I have my own definition of the difference but want to see how others feel. 💙

My migraines are always in the same spot on my head and come with dizziness and light sensitivity. I also usually get pretty intense anxiety along with migraines.

Migraines don't even have to be painful I live with the symptoms for the most part daily. A headache is more manageable.

For me, migraines just feel different. Migraines are also more lasting than headaches. They stay for longer and are more painful than just a headache. I get migraine "auras" before my migraines, too, though there is no warning for a headache. I'd say headaches can get up to a 4 on my 1-10 pain scale and migraines can be anywhere in the 4-10 range.

My migraines make me want to cry they hurt so much. I don’t even want to open my eyes. My mood shifts because of the pain too. I get tension headaches a lot that can feel like 1/2 of a migraine but I can stand them, I can power through. But with my migraines I feel like I’m going to vomit and light hurts cause it makes it worse and smells ugh make it so much worse. I just end up crying and it makes it a lot worse

migraines usually make me feel dizzy, give me light & touch sensitivity, & i begin to feel a stabbing pain in my eyes. headaches are usually just annoyances to me more than anything. i usually take tylenol if the symptoms are mild just to make sure if it is a headache or not. if tylenol doesn't work & my symptoms get worse, i take my migraine medication.
