Help with Stress, Fear, Impatience and Doubt

Hi! My name is Joshua. I wanted to get some help, as I cannot yet find help in other ways traditional currently. Besides, once I get the help I need, I can improve myself a lot faster! Any advice on handling stress, fear, impatience, and doubt?

hey joshua :) it's great you're actively looking to improve yourself and reach out for help. i can't give a one-fits-all set of advice, but i find music, evening walks, and venting to friends to be pretty helpful ways to address things like stress and fear. something to break or change the current cycle of your thoughts (music), something to remove you from your current environment (walks), something to reinforce our need for community (talking to friends). that last one's pretty important for any kind of struggle, i think. whatever you do, be kind to yourself and know that you are not alone. sending you positive vibes ♡

Thank you for your positive criticism and reinforcement of things I should do more. It's good to know that I'm not alone and that I don't have all the answers.

Hey Joshua, I am not sure if I can give very good advice on those kind of things, but I am very good at listening, and giving positive support and encouragement when/if I can.

Thank you. Humility can, it seems, help others ease. This can be difficult for me as a guy who like to improve himself and celebrate himself often. I like helping others, and you helped me here to understand. Thank you.

You're welcome. Trying to improve yourself can be difficult enough as it is, but even just admitting that you *want* to improve, much less needing to change at all can sometimes be much more difficult, given how many people in this world think they are "completely perfect just as they are (or believe themselves to be)."

Yeah. That can happen often. I like the criticism, as it can be a means of self improvement. But when one is really, really skilled in more than one area, it can be incredibly helpful to find teachers (not just schools) that can enhance the individual who is skilled. I now know what will help me further. Specialists to teach me respectfully. Thank you, again.

Stress - If it's caused by knowing you need to do something but not finding the motivation to do so, try making a schedule for yourself on the tasks that need to get done. If it's spontaneous stress, as happens with anxiety unfortunately, try music, a walk, doing a hobby of yours, and etc until you feel more calm. Fear - I think talking with friends and close family really help with this one. Also try going to a safe space that you really like, such as your bedroom or a favorite scenic spot. Impatience - Have not figured this one out yet unfortunately! Doubt - Make a list of things you like about yourself, talking with friends/close family soothes this one as well I find. In my case, I also find that doing a hobby makes me feel good about myself too. This is just what works for me, but hope you can find some methods that work for you.

I tend to go to my therapist to work on those issues but if you don’t have access to a therapist it might help to vent to someone on this app. I wish I could give better advice but without knowing more specifics probably shouldn’t recommend anything there. Feel free to message though!
