Hypersensitivity to Sounds: Anyone Else?

Is anyone else like hypersensitive to the sounds that are triggering or that they don't like? I was just at a live musical and it was really loud but I could still hear the person next to me breathing as loud as the music and it was all I could focus on I could like feel it in my teeth I hated it. Does anyone else have weird experiences like this?

Yes! Sometimes when other people are eating stuff, mostly crunchy stuff, but i would get so annoyed at it and it made me feel uncomfy. glad i found someone else with the same experience! 🫶

I’ve been having the same experiences for quite some time now .. I get so overstimulated by everyday noises (people having conversations or hearing multiple conversations at once, loud music, loud chewing, tapping, clock ticking , babies crying or kids screaming,..etc) all noises are amplified by 1000 some days it’s not too bad or more manageable than other days it’s so hard when other people don’t understand what this feels like to be extremely over stimulated sometimes the only way to quiet your mind is to kind peace and quiet and get away from everyone and everything doing this in the process has hurt peoples feelings.. my boyfriend will think I hate being around his 2 year Old cause some days I can’t handle the noise .. he thinks I’m trying to “kill his vibe “ when I ask him to lower the music it can be tough dealing with this around people who don’t understand how it feels

Absolutely. Growing up I had to wear big red headphones at dinner every single night couldn’t stand the sound of my family chewing in any capacity. I have a lot of trigger sounds I don’t like when people eat ice or chew or rumple the bag in class. Even the sound of peeing has triggered me.

Yes! Concerts are overwhelming. Events that involve speakers are always too loud. I can't handle fire alarms either. Even videos in class tend to be too loud for me.
