My mother got one due to her endo and it helped her a lot, other than going into menopause early which had a sting on her mental health but she has progressed tremendously from that, she still does experience some pain due to areas it spread to but it's not longer as terrible as it used to be, im hoping in the future to get one myself since it seemed to be better than the meds she was taking.

I got mine this past November. 100% worth it!!! They left the left ovary (right one was taken out in 2017) so also dodged early menopause 😊 Hope this helps ♥️

how do they decide if they will leave your ovary or take it?

I got mine in February. My recovery was longer than my other surgeries. Now I feel so much better. It's strange not having the constant pain anymore. I didn't realize how much pain I dealt with on a daily basis until it was gone.

My doctors all agreed I didn’t need to be sent into menopause right now mostly because I have osteoporosis and they didn’t want more issues with that. Also because I am 24 😊 Btw I did have a cyst on the ovary that they removed in the surgery and I haven’t had any problems with it since ♥️

I am curious what the long-term effects of having a hysterectomy for Endo is. My doctors have always told me it is not a cure for endometriosis especially if you still have one of your ovaries. The way they explain it is that estrogen is all around your body not just in the pelvic area and since your body is still producing estrogen (Especially if you still have one ovary) the endometriosis can always still come back
