Struggling with Inconclusive Results of Crohn's/Ulcerative Colitis/IBS

Anyone else struggle with inconclusive results? Crohn's/Ulcerative Colitis/IBS??? I first had my first bloody BM in University, and my biopsy from the colonoscopy came back as a match with UC. My doctor said he wasn't completely convinced (I am very lucky to have a very mild case of whatever I have). He put me on medication (Sulfasalazine). Several years later, all tests are always going back and forth between UC and Crohn's. I've had colonoscopies with perfect results, fecal tests with slightly elevated results, fecal tests with perfectly normal results. Constant is diarrhea, but haven't had blood in a while. My latest doctor said she thinks I am more likely to have Crohn's. I commonly struggle with imposter syndrome and am just looking to see if there are any others who have had a similar experience to mine. Any advice? Thanks!

Yes yes yes!!! I was confirmed through my first colonoscopy to have Crohn’s disease but since then my GI has gone back and forth as my inflammation used to be in my terminal ileum and now is up by my duodenum and top of my small intestine. She even suggested I go off IBD meds to see what happens which scared me a lot.

Did you end up going off the meds? It's always comforting to hear stories of others going through the stress of it all. Thank you for sharing. ❤️

Yupp! I was first diagnosed with UC, then Crohns, and now my medical providers deem it as inconclusive, but probably Crohns. Very frustrating - I’m sorry you’re going through the same

I did actually go off meds for about a week, ended up in a horrible flare. Definitely do not recommend 😅
